Next Week's Hobby Drops: Pitch Black Headlines a Loaded Stretch
Here's everything hitting shelves and hobby shops over the next week and a half, plus what's coming right behind it.
This Week's Releases
Wednesday, July 15
• Leaf Glory of the Game Soccer... 4 premium hits per box, including a multi-signed card and booklet card in every box.
Thursday, July 16
• Panini Court Kings Basketball (2025-26)... the art-based design returns for another season, always a strong chase for rookie autos.
Friday, July 17... the biggest day of the week:
• Pokémon Mega Evolution: Pitch Black... the fifth set in the Mega Evolution era, featuring Mega Darkrai ex. This is the marquee Pokémon release of the summer and will absolutely be the one to watch for shelf and case pricing.
• Pokémon Pitch Black Booster Bundles also drop the same day.
• Pulse Stratos Heat Seeker Football... fresh designs, headlined by names like Justin Jefferson.
Right Behind It: Topps Loads Up
Nothing from Topps lands this exact week, but don't sleep on what's coming right after Pitch Black:
• Topps x KAWS Baseball (July 20)... a special collaboration set with the artist's signature style, timed to Fanatics Fest in NYC and the Yankees/Dodgers series.
• Topps Pristine Baseball (July 20)
• Topps Chrome Baseball (July 22)... the 30th anniversary edition of one of the hobby's cornerstone products, one auto per hobby box, 300-card checklist, Gold Logoman redemptions still the ultimate chase.
• Topps Chrome Disney Sapphire Edition (July 22)
• Topps Inception Basketball (July 23)
• Topps Tribute Baseball (July 29)... celebrating its 25th anniversary, guaranteed 3 autos and 3 memorabilia cards per hobby box.
Still Hot: One Piece
One Piece Premium Booster Vol. 2 remains one of the hottest chase products in the secondary market right now... if you haven't locked in cases, expect continued price pressure into next month.
The Krain Crew Take
Pitch Black is the one to watch closely Friday. Mega Evolution sets have been consistently strong performers all year, and Darkrai as the chase Mega tends to pull serious secondary market attention. If you're planning to flip, get your presales locked early... these tend to sell through fast at MSRP before jumping on the secondary.
Then keep some powder dry for July 22... Topps Chrome's 30th anniversary tag alone should keep demand strong, and that's before factoring in the Gold Logoman chase.
As always... buy what you love, flip what makes sense, and don't chase hype into a set that doesn't have staying power.
