Chaos Rising is Here: Everyone’s Ripping, and the Hits Are Delivering

What a week for Pokémon TCG collectors! Chaos Rising officially dropped yesterday (May 22), and the community has been going absolutely wild. Preorders started rolling in strong on Friday, and a ton of you out there got your allocations... whether it was booster boxes, ETBs, or those coveted Pokémon Center exclusives. From what I’m seeing across the groups and marketplaces, boxes are flying off shelves and people are cracking packs left and right. The set is living up to the hype as a solid Mega Evolution entry. We’re seeing strong pull rates on the Ultra Rares and Illustration Rares, though the Special Illustration Rares (SIRs) and that lone Mega Hyper Rare remain chase-level difficult, as expected. Pitch Black Possible SIRs: Giratina Stealing the Spotlight with Darkrai Vibes?

Japan’s Abyss Eye drops in just a few days (May 22), and the hype for English Pitch Black (July 17) is already pitch perfect. We’ve seen the four main Pokemon ex (including those shiny new Mega Evolutions), but the real chase cards ... the Special Illustration Rares (SIRs) ...are where this set could shine brightest. The Confirmed Hits So Far We’ve got early looks at some premium artwork, including a stunning Mega Chandelure SIR that’s giving major spooky, starry-night energy. It’s easily one of the early standouts for collectors. Trainer cards like Gwynn are also popping up in SIR treatment. But the internet is buzzing about something else right now... That Giratina Full Art – Roman Pillars and Legends Arceus Vibes Word is spreading about a Giratina full art (possibly around the /081 mark) featuring classic Roman/Greek-style pillars in the background. Here’s your full rundown of the biggest releases and pre-order windows hitting next week (May 19-25, 2026). Pokémon TCG: Chaos Rising Drops Thursday, May 22 This is the one everyone’s been waiting for. Mega Evolution - Chaos Rising officially lands in English stores on May 22. Expect big Mega Evolution energy (think Mega Greninja ex and more), new ex cards, and that classic Pokémon hype. Products include: -Booster Boxes & Displays -Elite Trainer Boxes (including Pokémon Center exclusives) -Build & Battle Boxes (great for prerelease vibes) Pre releases wrapped up recently, so the full retail wave should be strong.
